Discernment

We really need discernment

In the church today

To lead us and to guide us

As we go on our way

The scripture warns of pitfalls

All throughout the word

We are told to watch and pray

And believe not all we’ve heard

Angels of light they will appear

On our path so subtle

Deceiving even the very elect

If it were possible

They twist and turn the scriptures

As Satan did that day

When in the wilderness with the Lord

He had so much to say

It is written came the words

From our master’s voice

Now you must flee, you understand

You surely have no choice

He made a show of him openly

For all the world to see

That he who is in the world

Must bow to He who is in me.
