Politically Incorrect

Did you know that scripture

Was politically incorrect

And that to be proper minded

The word you must neglect

Jesus He offended

Everywhere he trod

He even said for children

To not neglect the rod

He made the shocking statement

That self we must deny

Take up our cross and follow him

And never tell a lie

Oh, how unpopular

Our Saviour he would be

If somehow he could make a speech

In public now, you see

That’s why they stoned the prophets

And threw them in the dens

Because these men of old

They used to speak like Him

But now we have the soft approach

Let’s not offend our brother

No matter that he’s falling fast

And listening to another

The scripture says to warn them

No matter what the cost

For then we might save some

Keep them from being lost

But oh we long to please

And follow the multitude

Certainly would never risk

Being labeled rude
